WPI co-manages the Community Planning Assistance for Wildfire (CPAW) program with Headwaters Economics. CPAW offers technical land use planning assistance to communities across the United States. Through CPAW, the WPI team delivers planning services to advise communities on how to integrate wildfire planning concepts into their local plans and regulations. Recommendations are tailored to each community’s needs. Recent CPAW communities include Austin (TX), Bend (OR), and Wenatchee (WA). CPAW is funded by the USDA Forest Service and private foundation grants.
