WPI led an interdisciplinary team of engineers, foresters, planners, fire engineers, and legal experts to assist the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection in providing a technical review of the state’s Minimum Fire Safe Regulations. The Fire Safe Regulations are comprised of five articles: Administration, Ingress and Egress, Signing and Building Numbering, Emergency Water Standards, and Building Siting, Setbacks, and Fuel Modification, and are applicable in State Responsibility Area and Local Responsibility Area VHFHSZ (as per the scope).
The updated regulations took effect April 1, 2023, are available on the Board’s website.
